How did you get into wellness, both personally and professionally?

I grew up with the health and wellness community around me constantly. From a young age I was inspired to be the best and healthiest I can be. I grew up in ballet and danced into my 20s. Ballet and nutrition went hand-in-hand, and my love for both flourished. As I grew in my art form, my love for helping others grew as well. I worked in gyms, ballet studios, and fitness studios. Movement is a huge part of my life, and I love seeing its positive impact on everyone young and old.

What excites you most about being part of Level?

The heart, the vision, and the people are what excite me most about being part of Level. As a concierge, I take pride in supporting our team and creating a welcoming, encouraging environment where everything runs smoothly.

What misconceptions about wellness do you wish people understood?

Everyone's “healthy” looks different. Being healthy isn't just about the body. The mind and your mindset are huge parts of anyone's wellness journey. You are your biggest supporter and critic. Movement should be enjoyed not forced. Your workout might look completely different than someone else’s and that is beautiful. None of us are the same and so none of us like all the same things and that's why you have to find and do what you love.

You used to be a professional ballerina. Dance is so athletic but also involves a lot of empathy to convey the emotional part of the story. How does empathy show up in your work at Level?

I have been dancing since I was three years old, and was a professional ballerina for five years, including three seasons with the Nashville Ballet. What began as a hobby quickly became my passion and eventually my career. Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, dance was my escape and my way of expressing myself. That passion took me all over the country, and at 18, I moved to Nashville to pursue my dream.

At the Nashville Ballet, I performed dream roles such as the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty and Myrta in Giselle. Ballet is incredibly athletic, requiring strength, precision, and discipline, but what truly sets it apart is the empathy needed to bring a story to life. Every movement requires an understanding of emotion, intention, and the perspectives of others. Ballet may appear light and effortless on stage, but behind it lies years of hard work, vulnerability, and emotional connection.

That same empathy shows up in my current role as a client experience concierge at Level. Just as I learned to read subtle cues and convey emotion on stage, I now listen closely to clients’ needs, understand their experiences, and respond with care and intention. My background in ballet taught me how to be present, adaptable, and emotionally aware—skills that allow me to create meaningful, supportive experiences for every client I work with.

How did you go from ballet to Level?

In early 2024, I became ill with the flu and was suddenly unable to sit or stand, let alone dance. After nearly a year of uncertainty, I finally received a diagnosis of hyperadrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), along with peripheral neuropathy and benign joint hypermobility syndrome. These conditions marked the end of my career as a professional dancer and the dreams I had built around it.

While the weight of that grief was immense, I made the choice not to let it define or defeat me. Instead, I chose to let it strengthen me. I have many passions and aspirations, and I am now excited to pursue higher education to study and master a new one. Although I continue to face daily health challenges and obstacles, I do not see this chapter as the end of my story. Rather, it is a beginning—a call to move forward with resilience, kindness, curiosity, and a lifelong commitment to learning and growth.
